We explore the notion of biodiversity island as a sustainable option for environmental responsibility in the production environment An alboran biodiversity island is a delimited plot of land that is repopulated with species endemic to the area , in this case the alboran biosphere , thus giving rise to the name of this practice. The use of these islands in production environments presents a series of structural advantages and environmental repairs that caught our attention since we heard about them. Let's explore what exactly these plots consist of. Also what benefits they bring to a productive environment, and why we have decided to implement an island strategy in the todobarro tile. Biodiversity islands have begun to be considered a few years ago as a sustainable (and economic) alternative to the repair of natural habitats in denatured environments , such as urban or deforested areas. A team of professionals, biologists and environmental scientists, evaluate what combination and in what proportions of plants, shrubs, trees and agricultural elements can generate the greatest benefit for a given environment. This combination will depend on the climate, terrain conditions, local fauna, and repair intentions.
An island of biodiversity in diverse contexts An example of the use of biodiversity islands is this project by the Briznal Recovery Center , co-produced by the Ministry of Ecological Transition. It aims to restore favorable habitats for pollinating insects , such as bees or butterflies, in urban environments. Paving, deforestation and pollution make the survival of these insects in our cities increasingly difficult. This particular island is made up of both plant species and inorganic elements . Jasmine, honeysuckle, aromatic and legume bushes are necessary for the happiness of insects, but so are other elements Netherlands Mobile Number List such as a "bee hotel", a compost heap of dry leaves or a garden of rocks and decaying wood. . All these elements are part of this specific island of biodiversity. Following this logic, each island and each project has its particularities . Creating an island of biodiversity for the butterflies of Madrid is not the same as stopping the floods of the Ribera Alta in Valencia. And the uses of this technique can also be practical. Or for agricultural purposes. Or to improve the performance of the terrain . It is more than proven that deforestation is directly related to flooding, floods and soil loss. It is a direct relationship and very simple both to see and to demonstrate . For this reason, some islands are used to drastically minimize the destructive effects of torrential rains, improve soil quality and compensate for gas emissions. The latter is the case of biodiversity islands in productive environments.

Island of alboran biodiversity in El Tejar de Todobarro At todobarro we have decided to implement a strategy to green the productive environment through islands of alboran biodiversity. Thanks to the expert advice of our colleagues at AGUESA , a subsidiary company of Solutions Based on Nature of Málaga, or SbN , the location and extent of our island has been determined. The Nature-Based Solutions business cluster is a multidisciplinary group of entities and companies in Malaga interested in deepening the application of the nature-based solutions (NBS) approach in the local environment. Together with the Malaga Provincial Council, a Guide for the Application of Nature-Based Solutions in the Province of Malaga was published in February of this year . In this document, fifteen sheets of theoretical projects consisting of NbS strategies designed specifically for the province of Malaga are collected. File number 7 is titled "Islands of Alboran biodiversity." This experimental model was developed in a research project directed by Dr. Enrique Salvo Tierra , professor of Botany at the UMA, in collaboration with the Mediterranean Office of the International Union for Conservation of Nature. The objective of this project ( todobarro is the first entity to put it into practice ) is complex and multiple. On the one hand, we intend to protect the slope on which the island is being located.
