Hey there! Welcome to the new monthly appointment of the Marketing Espresso blog, News Recap, in which we summarize the most important news of the past month. There's tons of news about the digital and marketing world coming out day after day, so it's important to do a recap every now and then and put your ideas in order! June, as well as being a hot month, was full of new and interesting news. From Facebook's first smartwatch to the rebranding of Victoria's Secret, there is a lot of news to keep in mind and comment on. Most of these have been covered in our news podcast, Weekly News, but there are a couple of bonuses. I'd say leave now! Facebook is working on its first smartwatch Facebook has decided to enter the smartwatch market , announcing that it will release one of its own in 2022. The device will have a display with two cameras, with the ability to upload photos and videos directly to Facebook and Instagram.
The front camera will have a resolution of 1080p, and will be designed mainly for video calls; there will also be a camera on the body, which can be used once the device is detached from the strap. The smartwatch will not need a phone to work, and is designed to become a complete replacement for your smartphone. Will it be a flop or will it be something new that will shake the market? We just have to wait! Depop becomes a unicorn: purchased by Etsy for 1.6 billion Etsy, the international e-commerce giant, has purchased Depop for 1.6 billion dollars , which is therefore the second Italian startup to become a Europe Cell Phone Number List unicorn, i.e. to exceed the valuation of 1 billion. Depop is a platform that allows its users, mostly made up of Generation Z kids, to buy and sell clothing and accessories online. An interesting fact is that Depop was founded in Treviso in 2011 within the H-Farm incubator, although the headquarters were then moved to London in 2012. Today Depop has around 400 employees and a turnover that does not than growing up.

Congratulations to Depop! Anonymous threatens Elon Musk with a video One of the most discussed news this month is the message sent by Anonymous , the activist hacker collective, to Elon Musk. In fact, in recent months, Musk has shaken the cryptocurrency market by tweeting several times in a questionable and contradictory manner. Anonymous accuses him of destroying lives, referring to people who have made investments in cryptocurrencies a significant source of income. The hacker collective also targeted Elon Musk for the semi-slavery conditions faced by workers (often minors) in his lithium mines and the poor rights of those who work at Tesla. I'll leave you the video below: if you haven't seen it, I highly recommend you do.
