A cohort is a group of users who have a common feature. For example, a cohort may include all visitors who came from a mailing list. By analyzing this cohort, you can draw a conclusion about how the mailing list affects user behavior. For example, if their visit lasts less than 10 seconds, then the mailing list creates false expectations in them. Or, conversely, the transition from the letter often ends with an order. In this case, it is worth allocating more resources to mailing lists.
Marketer's Dictionary: What is Cohort Analysis
Conversion
The ratio of people who performed the target action to the total number of website visitors. The conversion rate tells not only about the quality of the traffic that advertising brings, but also about the quality of the website as a whole - whether the site makes people want to place an order. To reduce the cost of the request and increase the profit from advertising, you need to strive to increase the conversion rate. See the conversion rate calculation formula in the CR section .
